What you’ll need to put together this look:
1. Gray buttoned vest
2. V-neck tee shirt
3. Black dress pants
5. Von Zipper Skitch sunglasses
First Impressions:
Stand-out summer style.
Breakdown:
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to dress fashionably in the summer heat. One of my answers was this lookbook example.
Wearing a blazer in the blazing heat may be too hot, so swap it out for a dress vest. This will act as your “jacket” while freeing your arms from all that extra fabric.
Throw this vest on top of a v-neck shirt. A v-neck will keep your neck area cool, but try a long-sleeve for a classier look. I like them because you can pull them up during the day when the sun is out, and push them down when the night gets chillier.
A slick pair of black dress pants are perfect if you’re going to enjoy the city nightlife. But if you’re going for a more casual look, throw on a pair of dark wash jeans and you’re golden.
To complete this simple and classic summer outfit, you’re going to need a pair of loafers. Wear them without socks for that summer outfit touch.

Like the pieces in this outfit!
So should I keep the vest open or closed?
Great look! Keep them coming.
This is a really cool summer look. Will probably definitely wear it to College orientation. It would be really nice to have a lookbook that included shorts!
Great job guys i really love your blog ^_^
Love it!
what kind of belt should go with this? or no belt at all?
Hi Iancredible, I would wear a black belt to match the black shoes, or you could do a brown woven belt for a more casual touch, for example, to match the laces of the shoes in the photo, or a white belt for a fresh, young look!
Hey Preston,
For your 3 button vest, you can button the top 2 buttons, or just the center (to keep the casual look). For your 5 button vest, you can leave the top and bottom button undone, and button the rest.
Cheers,
Jae
I’d love to look stylish any day of the year, but what do I do about sweating? I’m some what prone to sweating, and looking good under 3 layers of clothing but sweating enough to show on the innermost layer isn’t exactly ideal. Any tips?
Oh and, what do you guys think about wearing beaters/A-shirts underneath tops
At #5 – is that a loafer or boat shoe?
@Gazman #5 is a boatshoe! 🙂 You guessed right.
